This short submission points out the critical importance of understanding the use of ‘revenge porn’ in the context of intimate partner violence, with attention to the particular dynamics of family violence. Sharing, or threatening to share or publish private sexual material is a means of coercive control over a partner or ex-partner is an increasingly common form of perpetrator behaviour.
